To escape the daily life as a self employed in a never sleeping city like Berlin to enjoy a few days off in the woods is the best way to refocus the mind and to regain new energy.
I often get messages about my travelings that somehow sound a bit envious and people complain that they can’t really afford to travel to such exotic places – and this is were in my opinion a big missunderstanding starts. What I am replying most of the time is that it is a heavy mistake to not travel at all due to the fact one does not have the money because adventure actually lies everywhere.
Why not start traveling your own country first maybe and really get to know your local area, I think you will be surprised how little you actually know about it. What I want to say is adventurous travel can start just in front of your own doorsteps only spending a few bucks, you only have to start and get out there.
Because of my self-employment I am bound to Berlin a lot myself and don’t have the time either to travel like I would sometimes. Instead of waiting forever for the one summer vacation to come I simply started to make smaller 2-3day adventures in shorter intervals. I started exploring the sourrounding of Berlin called Brandenburg over the last years and immediately fell in love with it. For sure its not the alps but people who complain about about its boring forests may have never really visited them in the first place. You can convince yourself with your own eyes now in my new gallery with footage only from local Brandenburg forest sceneries that I captured during various hikes over the years.
